Paris Hilton Rewarded For Her Drug Misdemeanor By Getting New TV Show
After The Simple Life and Paris Hilton’s My New BFF we’re pretty okay with Paris not being on television anymore, but apparently Oxygen, formerly a network for all women, now just a network for trashy women, disagrees. A source tells the New York Post that the new Hilton show “Isn’t ‘The Simple Life,’ where she played a campy version of herself. This show will give viewers a glimpse of the real Paris and her life, which is sometimes quite amazing.” Yes, we’re amazed that she got away with having drugs in her purse, to be honest. How ever did she manage that?
Sorry if we sound bitter, but we really thought the world would be done with Paris by now. As much as we rag on Lindsay Lohan and her problems, she at least has acting chops. Paris just keeps getting off for her bad behavior and expects us to remain interested in her “amazing” life. No, thanks.
Update! We hope the cameras are already rolling, because Paris’ boyfriend, Cy Waits, was busted for a hit and run last night after driving into a photographer with his Bentley and then zooming away. Paris was in the car during the accident, Cy later returned to the scene of the crime, talked to cops and was cited for the incident. “Amazing,” indeed!

Usher's OMG Tour To Launch In November
Usher's 25-date arena tour will start on November 10 in Seattle.

Usher will reward his fans' patience in November when he finally kicks off the long-awaited tour in support of his platinum Raymond v. Raymond album. Though it won't feature Chris Brown as recently rumored, Usher is promising a major show for the 25-date North American arena tour that kicks off on November 10 in Seattle.
"Songs like 'OMG,' 'DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love,' 'There Goes My Baby,' 'Papers,' 'Daddy's Home,' 'Lil Freak' with Nicki Minaj and 'Hot Tottie' with Jay-Z have dominated the airwaves since last February," said Randy Phillips, president & CEO of AEG Live, the promoter behind the tour. "Now is the time for one of our greatest entertainers to go live and we are thrilled to be part of the ultimate Usher experience. Usher is bringing his fans an evening they will not soon forget. This will be the 'Must See' concert tour of 2010!"
The singer, who is on tap to perform at Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards, will be on the road through late December, hitting major cities from Las Vegas and Los Angeles to Dallas, Detroit, Chicago and Boston, wrapping things up on December 18 with a show at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut.
Tickets will go on sale beginning September 17, with more information on opening acts and tour details available at Usherworld.com.

'Star Wars' Series To Be Re-Released In 3-D
George Lucas plans to roll out converted films one at a time, beginning with 'Phantom Menace' in 2012.

When the original "Star Wars" hit theaters in 1977, moviegoers were blown away by then-pioneering, eye-popping special effects that transported them to another fully formed universe. Now the mastermind of the series, director George Lucas, has a plan to refresh the movies on the 35th anniversary of their debut.
According to the Los Angeles Times movie blog Hero Complex, after observing the huge success of "Avatar" and "Alice in Wonderland," Lucas has decided to re-release the Jedi epic in 3-D. The current plan is to kick off the 3-D makeover in 2012 with the retrofitted first prequel in the space opera series, 1999's "Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace," and then follow with the five other movies, in numerical order, in consecutive years, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Lucas' famed Industrial Light & Magic special-effects shop will oversee the 3-D conversion. Considering the flack some filmmakers have received for converting to 3-D after the fact to ill effect, Lucas promised in a press release that the greatest care will be taken not to tarnish the "Star Wars" legend.
"Getting good results on a stereo conversion is a matter of taking the time and getting it right," said ILM visual effects supervisor John Knoll. "It takes a critical and artistic eye along with an incredible attention to detail to be successful. It is not something that you can rush if you want to expect good results. For 'Star Wars' we will take our time, applying everything we know both aesthetically and technically to bring audiences a fantastic new 'Star Wars' experience."
The Times noted that Lucas, never a big proponent of 3-D, has said recently that the technological advances made in James Cameron's "Avatar" convinced him to take a second look at the process. Lucas told "Access Hollywood" earlier this year that he was considering a 3-D makeover for his beloved space saga.
"Haven't been a big fan of 3-D, but that movie definitely improves in [the field of] 3-D ... We've been looking for years and years and years of trying to take 'Star Wars' and put it in 3-D," Lucas said. "But [the] technology hasn't been there. We've been struggling with it, but I think this will be a new impetus to make that happen."
In addition to awaiting new, better 3-D technology, the director was also reportedly biding his time until there were more theaters equipped with 3-D screening capability in order to do the widest release possible of the retooled movies.
Given the criticism Lucas has received in the past for tinkering with the original trilogy by adding new effects and scenes, longtime fans should take heart that, according to Variety, Knoll said there are no plans to add or fix visual effects in the movies for the 3-D conversion.

Topshop to Open in Chicago

"I am delighted to confirm our second U.S. store will open in Chicago in the autumn of 2011," Mary Homer, Topshop's managing director, tells StyleLIst.
"A bustling, vibrant city of culture with a dynamic love of fashion, I feel confident that the local community and tourists alike will be drawn to Topshop and our trend-driven, ever-evolving ranges."
The whopping, 30,000-square-foot store will open in a corner location on the city's tony Michigan Avenue, next to Filene's Basement.
"Michigan Avenue is steeped in history and this impressive building provides the perfect backdrop for us to launch our most innovative retail concept yet," says Homer.
The chain's Topshop and Topman lines will both be represented in what is set to be the second U.S. location (New York City's SoHo store is the first).
Topshop's owner, Sir Philip Green, told WWD the merchandise "will not be materially different" from that of SoHo or London's Oxford Circus flagship.
The next cities targeted for the British brand's expansion are Las Vegas, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, with Miami and a second New York location in the plans.
The final full Kate Moss for Topshop collection will not be in the Chicago store, as it is launching in London on Nov. 4. Fingers crossed that her periodic capsule collections do make an appearance in the Windy City.

We also took a peek at the ladies they used; if the Situation thinks those girls are beneath him, he has not looked in a mirror recently (well, above the neck anyway).
Things were going well until one of the women caught wind of the game, sources say, and “While the girls did know their photos were being taken, they were unaware they were about to become official grenades. It came as a complete surprise and at least one of them is now considering her legal options.” The Situation really blew this one. � Ryan Reynolds, the ?Green Lantern? and ?Buried? actor ? who married Scarlett Johansson in September 2008 after first meeting her in 2007 and following a broken engagement with singer Alanis Morrisette, told HELLO! Canada magazine that he was just ready to get settle down.� He said: ?I honestly think it was just a case of being ready to meet the person that I was going to marry. I don?t want to overly romanticise it here and now, because it?s probably not the appropriate place. ?It?s difficult to narrow down something like that. Relationships are so much about being ready for them, then it is just like lightning, you know? When it?s in a magazine or something, it?s easier to just say, ?I knew when,? but I?d say it was just timing.?He goes on to say that both he and Scarlett?s relationship works because they have their priorities straight;
He explained: ?I would say that nothing about my life ? and I certainly speak for my wife ? has ever been overly conventional, but I think any relationship is about prioritising and that?s got to be at the forefront for any couple. Franco, who reportedly was reading Twilight for “research” made it all the way to Breaking Dawn, but unfortunately, even though he was patient, the sex wasn’t worth the wait. He told MTV “I read a part of it. I think I got to the sex scene, but it was so brief, I didn’t even know if it was the actual sex scene. It was kind of a letdown after all that buildup.” Amen, brother. Even though the books are full of sexual tension and loads of thirsting-for-Bella’s-blood-as-metaphor-for-doin’-it, we agree that the sex was a little too “Edward kissed me, things happened, and then I fell asleep. Also, pillow-biting.” We don’t need Harlequin romance here but we waited 2000 pages for that?
He also cops to reading the books but not actually liking them, saying� “I wouldn’t say I enjoy them, but I’m fascinated with them. I’m interested in the metaphor of the vampire placed in the high school setting and how a relationship with a vampire can stand in for general feelings that people have as teenagers. And the obsession people have with that is also fascinating to me.” We give him a lot of credit for reading this much of the series, given all his other projects. It still makes us wonder if he’s aiming for a role in Breaking Dawn…
