Brad Pitt on His Holiday Plans: "I Didn't Know It Was Thanksgiving Until Like Midday"
Brad Pitt didn't spend Thanksgiving eating turkey and overindulging in his favorite holiday dish like most of us did.
Instead of hanging out with family and friends enjoying the day, he was busy working on the set of his new film in London titled World War Z — a horror film about a U.N. worker trying to stop a Zombie outbreak.

In fact, the 48-year-old didn't even realize what day it was.
"I didn't know it was Thanksgiving until like midday. Until [the] afternoon," he told People.
"When you're overseas, they don't celebrate it in England. And [Angelina Jolie] and some of the kids are overseas in Cambodia this week, working on the [The Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation] there," he said. "It completely escaped me until someone brought me some English pumpkin pie."

But he doesn't feel too bad about it. He said, "That's okay, last year we had a big meal and we don't normally miss things twice."
Although Brad couldn't be with his own family for Thanksgiving, he helped out someone else's that day by giving a donation to a mother whose son was in the hospital fighting for his life.
Karley Gallagher wrote on Facebook, "I am raising money for Southampton Neonatal Unit. My son, Zachary Gallagher was born with Gastroschisis and in total, was in intensive care for 9 weeks, the neonatal team were beyond amazing and this is our chance to give something back."
Well little did she know, Brad had heard about her story and decided to help out. He gave the $1,100 he had in his wallet to the cause and Karley was beyond ecstatic.

She said, "The fundraiser had finished, and I got a phone call from my best friend, who said, 'We have had a small donation.' I thought she was messing about and was going to say, 'My dad's given you a fiver' or something, then she said, 'It's from Brad Pitt!'
"He said that he had seen the fundraiser mentioned in the local papers and seen my fliers and thought it was a really great cause and was just sorry he couldn't have been there. The silver lining is that Zachary is home and alive. ... To have Brad assist us is more than we could ever have wished for."

Red Carpet Confidential: ?Pretty Little Liars? Star Lucy Hale Avoids Black Friday
Despite the allure of Black Friday deals, Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale will be sleeping in — and escaping the chaos at the mall.
“My only tradition is that I stay away [laughs] from it all,” she tells me Tuesday when she pops up to surprise students with battery-powered toys during the Duracell Power Holiday Smiles event benefitting Toys For Tots at P.S. 64 in NYC.
“I’ve never been to a mall or a store on Black Friday. I don’t do good in crowds, I have anxiety — no, I can’t. Not even a good sale can bring me out!”
For Thanksgiving, the 23-year-old beauty looks forward to relaxing.
“I’m going to spend a week-and-a-half at home in Nashville, and just hang out with family,” she says. “I’m really excited. I haven’t been home in awhile.”
One thing she won’t have to worry about is holiday drama.
“My family has steered clear of it — I don’t know how,” she admits. “If anything, it’s been a food crisis — like, something was burnt or somebody forgot an ingredient. Otherwise, I have a small family, so it tends to be pretty low-key. We’ve lucked out in that way.”
For Lucy, giving back is a way of life.
"I’m working with Duracell and their Power Holiday Smiles campaign. What it is is a sweepstakes, and you can go on their Facebook page, which is Facebook.com/Duracell, and you enter the sweepstakes to win some of the hottest toys of the season. For every entry in the sweepstakes, Duracell’s going to donate one battery to Toys For Tots to power up the toys for the holiday season."
She continues, "It’s cool, because you have the opportunity to win some pretty cool stuff, and you’re also helping out. Give a little, take a little — it’s good for everybody."
Duracell Power Holiday Smiles aims to power 500,000 smiles for families in need with the help of consumers.

'Dancing With the Stars' Recap: Val Chmerkovskiy?s Speedo Steals The Show
This week, the competition takes it shot at making it to the finals and winning the ever-coveted Mirrorball trophy. Hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet keep reminding us that it’s new and improved – but what could have possibly happened to it? We’ll see soon enough! Along with the crazy dance mixes the Dancing With the Stars producers came up with last week, the competition will face a Michael Jackson Tribute round in celebration of the late singer’s “Bad” album and its 25th anniversary.
OK! GALLERY: DWTS PRO MAKSUM CHMERKOVSKIY SEEN LOOKING AMAZING OUTSIDE DANCE STUDIO
Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani
Song: “Walk the Dinosaur”
All Melissa and Tony wanted was to make it past week 4 – and now they’re in the semifinals and determined to make it all the way to the end! But not without a few hiccups along the way… Tony suffers a back injury while they’re working on their camera blocking! Luckily, doctors cleared him to dance the Caveman Hustle. Dressed in traditional caveman gear, Melissa and Tony give it their best shot. He’s using her butt as a pair of bongo drums. There’s chest pounding! It could have easily gotten a little silly, but what do the judges think?
“Red and Wilma have never danced so well,” Len Goodman raved. “Tony had the muscle, you had the hustle.”Bruno Tonioli called it the “most effective use of animal skins since Raquel Welch,” despite the issues with footing.Carrie Ann Inaba called it “yabba dabba fun” despite the hustle being a bit off.
Score: 9, 9.5, 9 = 27.5 out of 30
Song: “Dirty Diana” by Michael Jackson
With Michael Jackson’s mom in the crowd, Melissa and Tony kicked off the tribute round with a red-hot little number – and I’m not just talking about Melissa’s outfit. There was sex appeal, passion… it’s all there, and in time with the moves and the music. It’s amazing how Tony and Melissa’s lifts and tricks continue to look so natural week after week.
Bruno called out Melissa on being a “dirty nasty wicked devil of a woman.” He said, “That sequence of lifts was absolutely extraordinary...You deserve to be in the final.” And he’s not the only one who thinks so! “I would be really disappointed if you weren’t there next week,” said Len. Carrie Ann joked, “Dirty Diana, I would like to introduce you to Magnificent Melissa!”
Score: 10, 10, 10 = 30 out of 30 with a combined scored of 57.5 out of 60
Shawn Johnson & Derek Hough
Song: “Mundian To Bach Ke”
“I would rather have mustard on ice cream as a combination of things,” Derek said of the Knight Rider Bhangra number he and Shawn faced this week. The pro decided to bring in some help for the Indian folk dance – a very good idea. The fast moving, flailing movements had Shawn out of breath on the dance floor! Derek was dressed in a Knight Rider inspired jacket, while Shawn rocked a gold glittery little number.
“Another mega hit for Shawn and the hulk,” Bruno shouted! “Finally, Shawn is out of breath,” Carrie Ann commented. Despite last week’s brutal critique, Len told the couple, “Shut up, close the door, call me Mary!” He thought the routine was dynamite!
Score: 10, 10, 10 = 30 out of 30
Song: “Bad” by Michael Jackson
During rehearsals, the pressure finally gets to Derek. “I don’t know if I like any of this,” he laments, but when the cameras start rolling it’s clear that their time off camera did not go to waste. This Argentine Tango is definitely less about the story and more about the precision of the moves. The kicks are sharp. There are no props. The spins are fast and on point.
Bruno thought it was stylistically perfect, the two having gone for shapes, lines and style. Carrie Ann agreed, but couldn’t help put point out the lack of storytelling. “It lacked a bit of drama and the intimacy.” Len explained that there are two part of the dance – the movement and the style. “For me, you nailed both parts.”
Score: 9, 10, 10 = 29 out of 30 with a combined total of 59
Apolo Anton Ohno & Karina Smirnoff
Song: “What You Waiting For”
This week, Karina and Apolo are working hard – putting in the most hours they’ve spent rehearsing all season – but the Olympian is still a little unsure of his steps. He’s learning moves he’s never done or heard of before. It’s just not sticking to his brain! Out on the dance floor, there’s a quick slip-up on Apolo’s part and the dance never quite recovers from there. It just doesn’t seem to have the same fluidity the other couples have…but there are fun house mirrors! And Apolo is dressed up as a mime without the face makeup!
Carrie Ann thought the Big Top Jazz numer was very disjointed. “It didn’t quite all come together and mesh.” Surprisingly, Len agreed. “There were a couple of awkward moments in there,” but called Apolo a fighter. Bruno loved how edgy and surreal it was, calling it a blend of Cirque du Soleil and A Clockwork Orange.
Score: 8.5, 9, 9.5 = 27 out of 30
Song: “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson
The two of them have been through everything together: the highs, the lows, the middles. During rehearsals, Apolo talks about how he’s tried to get some of his friends to do the show, but warns them – it’s one of the hardest things you’ll ever do. Karina wanted the Rumba to be romantic and gentle and she got it! They start off in front of a mirror, but not for long. There are no slip-ups this time and despite the song choice, Apolo reminds us of a smooth, smoooooth criminal.
“That is what I’m talking about,” Carrie Ann raves. “You don’t have to overdance in this competition to achieve perfection.” Len compared it to the sea, saying, “There was just wave after wave of effortless motion.” Bruno thought they nailed it! “That was perfectly pitched between sensuality and romance.”
Score: 10, 10, 10, = 30 out of 30 with a combined total of 57
Emmitt Smith & Cheryl Burke
Song: “Secret Agent Man”
Last week’s Salsa was definitely a highlight for this couple. Emmitt even got a call from his mom – “Now, that’s the way you’re supposed to dance!” But they knew combining the Lindy Hop with Espionage was going to be no small feat. Cheryl wants it to look very cartoonish, which puts Emmitt outside of his comfort zone. There’s a Mirrorball bomb, 007-inspired outfits and an explosion at the end! What did the judges make of it?
“I liked the concept, I liked the energy, I liked the lifts, I liked the fun,” Len said, but “I would have liked more Lindy in there.” Bruno thought it was like a Looney Tunes version of James Bond. “It was the most fun performance I think I’ve ever seen you do.” Carrie Ann agreed, calling it Emmitt’s most animated performance.
Score: 9, 9, 9 = 27 out of 30
Song: “Leave Me Alone” by Michael Jackson
Behind the scenes, the pressure is getting to the two. Emmitt’s trying his best and Cheryl’s pushing him hard. There’s a bit of a partner’s spat. “I don’t know what I want to do right now – I really don’t,” Emmitt says. His dancing needs to go up a notch… Despite the frustration, the practice definitely paid off! The Tango is a hit with the audience and the NFL star’s charm has been replaced with the look of determination.
Len thinks these two face the biggest challenge of all the couples this week because of Emmitt’s ease and elegance paired with dances that call for sharp and aggressive movements. Bruno loved it! “It was almost a criminal predatory power.” His hold was a bit broad for Carrie Ann, but she complimented him on brining his A game.
Score: 9, 9, 9 = 27 out of 30 with a combined total of 54
Kelly Monaco & Valentin Chmerkovskiy
Song: “Malaguena”
Val knows the Surfer Flamenco is a bit risky, but they have no choice. They either sink or swim, but they’re going to throw themselves into the water – and they did! Surrounded by surfboards and palm trees, Kelly and Val take on the sexy number. While DWTS was interrupted by an emergency alert system for me, Kelly and Val didn’t stop! Kelly takes off her skirt to reveal a bathing suit and Val strips down to a Speedo. They danced in a puddle of water? I love it.
Bruno says what we were all thinking – Kelly was upstaged by a Speedo. While there was a lot of aggression and fire, “the Flamenco has a very, very exact placement, and it wasn’t there.” Carrie Ann explained, “It was all Paso; It didn’t really have Flamenco.” Len agreed that it could have used more Flamenco, but “the energy and the way you work was fantastic.”
Score: 8, 9, 8.5 = 25.5 out of 30
Song: “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” by Michael Jackson
“We could really, really relate to this song,” Val said. Let’s channel our inner love for each other? “It’s week nine and I still can’t stop loving you, Kelly.” Get a room, guys! Kelly opens up about her problems with intimacy and having been embarrassed for winning the first season of DWTS after some one called her out for not having been the best dancer. When push comes to shove, this Rumba was like watching Kelly and Val finally come out as a couple. I mean, THEY KISSED IN THE DARK WHEN THEY THOUGHT NO ONE WAS LOOKING!
“Well, that was smoldering… driven by desire, consumed by lust,” Bruno said. “The chemistry between you two is literally singeing!” Carrie Ann called it beautiful and Len loved how they sped it up and then slowed it down. “The line and shape were fantastic.”
Score: 9.5, 9.5, 9.5, = 28.5 out of 30 with a combined total of 54
With next week’s double elimination, which couple do you want to see in the finals? Will we ever understand Val and Kelly’s love? Does Melissa have a shot at winning the Mirrorball trophy? Let us know in the comments!

<P>When Justin Bieber dropped his <a href="/news/articles/1684446/justin-bieber-boyfriend-video.jhtml">"Boyfriend"</a> video back in May, he made one thing very clear: He's all grown up.</P><P>Yes, with its cool cars, hot clothes and even hotter women, "Boyfriend" was <i>precisely</i> the kind of video a newly minted 18-year-old would make, had they the means (and the relationship with <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2010/09/24/lil-x-director-x/">Director X</a>). It was a supercharged, supremely budgeted <i>man's</i> fantasy, and, much like manhood itself, there was nothing subtle about it.</P><P><object width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" id="embeddedPlayer" data="http://videoplayer.vevo.com/embed/embedded" style="visibility: visible;"><param name="bgcolor" value="#000000"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"><param name="flashvars" value="playerType=embedded&videoId=USUV71201064&playlist=false&enableDomScan=true&siteSection=MTV_mtv.com&playerId=62FF0A5C-0D9E-4AC1-AF04-1D9E97EE3961&autoplay=0&endScreen=play&cc=US&cultureName=en-US&cultureIsRTL=False&sbId=14A00605-7DB5-4492-B67B-CB2093BD89DD"></object></P><P>And while the same can be said about his brand-new "As Long as You Love Me" clip — it's about a subtle as a hammer to the head — that's where the similarities between the two videos end. Director Anthony Mandler tones down the excess in favor of a genuine grittiness, and, in the process, makes "Boyfriend" look like child's play. If that clip was a fantasy ride, well, then "ALAYLM" is a reality trip. Adulthood isn't <i>all</i> fun and games, after all.</P><P>Part tragic love story, part pulpy thriller, the new vid finds Bieber flexing his acting muscles opposite Michael Madsen — that'll put hair on his chest — who plays an overprotective father/probable career criminal with a penchant for gaudy fashion (which is to say, the same kind of role he's been playing for 20 years now). Biebs has only the noblest of intentions for his daughter, but Madsen refuses to give their relationship his approval — a point he drives home when he advises JB to "hit the road."</P><P>Of course, given that this is a tragedy, Bieber doesn't listen, and, in-between some scenes of the young couple exploring the limits of their love — definitely his most adult to date — we learn that JB plans on rescuing his girlfriend from the grips of her father, via a late-night train station rendezvous. As you might expect, this doesn't sit particularly well with Madsen, who confronts Bieber and dishes out a savage beating (though at least he doesn't <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLTqecGbdCc" target="_blank">cut his ear off</a>) while his daughter looks on in horror.</P><P>And while you'd think all that violence would be enough to further cement his love interest's desire to flee, sadly, she leaves Bieber standing at the train station, and at clip's end, he is heartbroken ... and alone. For the first time, Bieber <i>doesn't</i> get the girl, and the message seems to be clear: Being a grown-up ain't all it's cracked up to be.</P><P>In a lot of ways, "As Long as You Love Me" is probably a risk for Bieber; he dares to dirty up his image and isn't afraid to take a beating. Those scenes of violence are are particularly vivid, as are the subsequent performance shots where Bieber belts out the tune with blood dripping from his face. It's a credit to his newfound maturity that he'd trust Mandler's vision and allow the "ALAYLM" video to go to such great lengths. This is in no way a <i>fun</i> clip, but, then again, adulthood isn't supposed to be fun. Bieber seems to have figured that out, and, in doing so, he's only further separated himself from his tween-pop forefathers. They'd never go to the lengths or the depths he does here, mostly because they were probably afraid to grow up. It's clear Bieber isn't.</P><P><i>What do you think of Bieber's grown-up video for "As Long as You Love Me"? Leave your comment below!</i></P>

Britney Spears 'X Factor' Rumors Are 'Nonsense,' Simon Cowell Says
'She's got her confidence up. Once people give her a chance, I think people are really going to get her,' Cowell says of new judge.
By John Mitchell
<P>Simon Cowell is clearly feeling better — after missing <a href="/news/articles/1687133/x-factor-judges-performances-fighting.jhtml">"The X Factor" auditions in Kansas City, Missouri,</a> due to a bout of bronchitis — and he's talking <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a>.</P><P>Cameramen from <a href="http://www.x17online.com/celebrities/simon_cowell/simon_cowell_says_britney_spears_not_unstable_claims_he_is_video_061412.php" target="_blank">X17</a> caught up with Cowell while he was riding in his town car in Beverly Hills, and they found the oft-testy reality-show judge and music executive to be in a particularly good mood. Cowell addressed a variety of tabloid rumors regarding Spears — namely that she's had some issues on set and that she's shaping up to be one of the tougher judges.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Britney Spears Explains Why She Wanted To Be A Part Of 'X Factor'" id="vid:769620" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>When a cameraman asked whether "Britney's too unstable" to judge "X Factor," Cowell responded, "No, she's not unstable. I'm the one who's unstable! She's working out great. All these reports that we've fallen out are nonsense. She's doing a great job."</P><P>Cowell's car then pulls away, but again comes to a stop in traffic, allowing the paparazzi to continue his questioning. Asked whether Spears was his favorite judge, Cowell said, "There's only two girls," referring to Demi Lovato, and went on to jokingly admit that he is his own favorite of all time. "Yeah, I'd say Simon Cowell is a great guy," he quipped. "Very good looking."</P><P>Pressed further about Spears, Cowell offered more praise for the pop singer. "Like I said, she's been amazing. She's really taking time to learn how to do this," he continued. "She's got her confidence up. Once people give her a chance, I think people are really going to get her. It will be a big surprise. She's a tough judge."</P><P>As tough as the famously direct Cowell? "I'm a pussycat," he said playfully as his car pulled away.</P><P>We guess all that talk that <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20602881,00.html" target="_blank">Spears has been "incredibly tough"</a> on contestants might not be far from the truth. For her part, Spears responded to those rumors herself, taking to <a href="https://twitter.com/britneyspears/status/212289663422042112" target="_blank">Twitter</a> to say, "It's all tough love ... I promise!"</P><P><i>Share your thoughts about Britney Spears judging "X Factor" in the comments below!</i></P>

A vast catalog of hit break-up songs is enough to scare most guys away, but Taylor Swift may have landed herself a new man in One Direction's Harry Styles.
The "Never Ever Getting Back Together" singer rehearsed her performance for "The X-Factor" on Thursday morning (November 15) and the 18-year-old boy-band member was on hand to support her.
An insider tells PEOPLE, "He was smiling at her while she rehearsed. When she was done he jumped up on stage, picked her up, put her over his shoulder and carried her off stage. The whole crew was really surprised."
Also spotting the pair was host Mario Lopez, who asked Harry what he was doing at rehearsals, "And he sort of [pointed] toward Taylor." On his 104.3 MY FM radio show on Friday, Mario admitted he saw the two "hand-in-hand."
