Gearing up for some overseas travel, Prince William and Kate Middleton were spotted boarding a plane of the Royal Canadian Air Force at London?s Heathrow Airport today (June 30).
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge looked excited to be embarking on their 11-day journey to Canada and California, their first major tour as a married couple.
Kevin MacLeod, the Canadian secretary to the Queen told press, "I think given the youth and the dynamism of this couple they will simply continue to reaffirm the important role the crown plays in this country.?
However, a Canadian blogger named Donquixotic lamented the news of the Royal couple?s visit ?I am disgusted that our governments (federal and provincial) [are] wasting their citizens' hard-earned tax remittances on such stupid and insulting expenditure as to entertain the scions of one of the wealthiest families of the planet, who come here to promote THEIR own trade interests. If William Windsor and his wife want to visit, they are welcome, as all other tourists who pay their own way! Otherwise let them stay home."
