Lindsay Lohan Parties First Night of Freedom Away

Lindsay Lohan had her ankle monitor removed and was released from house arrest around 10:20 a.m. Pacific Time yesterday.

Last night, she partied with friends at the Lexington Social House in Los Angeles. We're as shocked as you are: she didn't go there for a late breakfast?!?

Lohan reportedly spent the evening with actors Emile Hirsch and Lyndsy Fonseca, barely making it out of the club without falling as she tried (and failed) to hide from a swarm of paparazzi.

It's nice to see this star getting back to what she does best, isn't it?

Britney Spears isn't the only pop titan dancing until the world ends: Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha have joined forces to add a new spin on an all-female remix of Femme Fatale's second single, "Till the World Ends."

The reworked dance anthem, which leaked online Friday (April 22), appears to have surfaced earlier than expected as noted by a series of countdowns on all three of the stars' websites.

Mixing the dance tune's original sonic swirls with heavier bass, Britney tourmate Minaj starts off the remix by throwing down an aggressive verse, in which she calls out a female hater: "A-A-A-A-A-AYE!/ Chimpanzees is hatin', but I take it all in stride/ Put her in a jungle with bananas on the side/ Told you they'd revive your career, but somebody lied/ I ain't talkin' poultry when I say this chicken's fried."

After Minaj spits a few introductory bars, Spears delivers the song's first verse before an introduction for the all-star trio. "It's Britney, bitch. I'm Nicki Minaj and that's Ke$ha!" the Young Money MC proclaims.

Ke$ha, who originally wrote the track for the pop princess, takes part in singing the club-ready track's chorus. Spears soon takes back control of the song as Ke$ha shadows the singer's lines toward the end of the second verse and bridge. Unlike the original version, the "Till the World Ends" remix also features a stuttering dubstep dance break.

News of a star-studded collaboration was hinted earlier this week when producer Dr. Luke tweeted, "@NICKIMINAJ killed it tonight!!!! thanks!!!"

'Mission: Impossible 4' Is 'Intense,' Katie Holmes Says

While we've been awaiting an official trailer for "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" — which is said to drop in front of this week's "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" — a French version leaked online Monday (June 27), and reportedly contains plenty of expected shots of Tom Cruise involved in crazy action sequences as super-spy Ethan Hunt.

Since we have yet to see the trailer or any footage ourselves, when MTV News caught up with Cruise's better half, Katie Holmes, Monday during the press day for "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark," we asked if she's seen any of the film yet.

"I have. I had an advanced screening," she said with a laugh, adding that it's a perk of being married to the film's star.

As for her thoughts about Cruise's death-defying stunts in the film, particularly those he performed atop Dubai's Burj Khalifa (the world's tallest building), Holmes turned the question over to Guillermo del Toro, who produced "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark."

"What did you think, Guillermo, about the Burj?" she asked him.

"I love it!" he said, at which point they both agreed that Cruise's stunts were scarier than their film, which revolves around the demonic activities of a group of terrifying little creatures that seek out and kill humans, particularly children.

"It's amazing," Holmes continued. "The movie is going to be very cool and intense and the best 'Mission' yet."

The actress also mentioned that she'd be game for a role that required a few crazy stunts herself. "I think it sounds fun," she said.

Del Toro then chimed in with his own "Mission: Impossible Diaries," so to speak: "I live 'Mission: Impossible.' It's what I call my diet," he joked, and then proceeded to hum the "Mission: Impossible" theme song, while miming his insatiable appetite, making Holmes burst out laughing.

Holmes weighed-in: "I have a lot of 'Mission: Impossible' moments, just being a mom."

Del Toro agreed: "Yes, coping with the home front."

Earlier this week, Britney Spears, Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj dropped their femme-fatale-friendly remix of the Spears club track "Till the World Ends." The already fun song got super-charged thanks to Minaj's cutting verses and Ke$ha's recognizable vocals.

"I'm a massive fan of both the ladies I share the track with," K told MTV News on Wednesday at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards. "I wrote 'TTWE' for Britney with [producers] Dr. Luke and Max [Martin] and she killed it and I loved it, but I just thought a supergroup of three hot, strong women could just take over the airwaves."

Ke$ha went on to give props to both the ladies. "I'm such a massive fan of Britney and I'm such a massive supporter of Nicki and a fan, and chicks sometimes don't team up. I don't know why, but I'm, like, huge on the girl power, so I just wanted to make a power girl track take over."



The remix quickly won praise from fans who seem to think the new features step up the song's game. "You know, with the three of us, I wasn't necessarily surprised [people like it] because I'm such a massive fan of Nicki Minaj and obviously with Britney I'm a fan of it, [taking] myself out of the equation," she said. "I'm just happy people like it."



So did Ke$ha (who once sang backup for Spears) feel any pressure writing a song for Britney? "There was no pressure. Writing for somebody else is really fun 'cause I consider myself a songwriter first and foremost," she explained. "So it was so much fun to put my brain in the sexy Britney Spears brain and express myself almost as if I were possessed by her."

"American Idol" season 10 has drawn to a close, and while Scotty McCreery was still digesting all that confetti he ate on Wednesday night, we here at MTV News were working around the clock to bring you news from the big finale, including Thursday's "Idol Party Live" (streaming live right here on MTV.com at 12 p.m. ET) and "Idol" in 60 Seconds, the script of which you can peruse below while you watch the video:

On Tuesday night, Fox televised a Southern junior high school talent show. Yes, season 10 came down to Scotty McCreery and his smirk versus Lauren Alaina and her doctor. There were songs about teenage love, and moms, and the civil war and ... I'm so sorry, guys, I'm trying, but me and country music go together like Haley Reinhart and pants.

On Wednesday, producers booked only the biggest, most contemporary pop stars for the big finish: Gaga, Beyoncé, Tony Bennett, Tom Jones ... Gaga, Beyoncé.

And after every guest star from stage and screen and total f---ing catastrophe [shot of "Spider-man"] finished their cameo, Ryan Seacrest did this. [Montage of Seacrest plugging all the guest stars' projects.]

Wow, if "Idol" did this good a job promoting their own artists, Lee DeWyze might be selling records.

Unless you were a fan of James Durbin's armpits, the night was really all about the big winner, Scotty, and runner-up Lauren, the two youngest "Idol" finalists ever, so producers made this finale especially family-friendly.

Or not. But give "Idol" some credit for still trying to kickstart David Archuleta's puberty.

In addition to being a stellar actor, Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire is a pretty great poker player. Maguire is so great, in fact, that he's among the high-profile celebrities being sued in connection with a multimillion-dollar gambling ring that ran high-stakes underground poker games in California, TMZ reports.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have also been named as participants in the games, but they're not being targeted by the lawsuit. So why is Tobey being sued? According to Radar Online, it's because Maguire, 35, won more than $300,000 from Brad Ruderman, a hedge fund manager who embezzled millions from investors to play the games, lost the cash and then orchestrated a Ponzi scheme to try to pay off his debts to Maguire and others. An FBI investigation into Ruderman, the former CEO of Ruderman Capital Enterprises, uncovered that he'd lost as much as $25 million in these clandestine poker tournaments.

Ruderman is currently in prison in Texas until 2018, having been convicted on two counts of wire fraud and two counts of investment adviser fraud. With Ruderman's company  now in bankruptcy, his clients are filing civil suits against Maguire and others who won big at the poker games in order to reclaim their money. The suit against Tobey claims that the poker-game winners are "not entitled to receive the transfers from the Debtor, which transfers were compromised of improperly-diverted investor funds."

Also being sued are The Notebook director Nick Cassavetes, Welcome Back, Kotter star Gabe Kaplan, and Paris Hilton's infamous sex tape partner Rick Salomon. DiCaprio, Damon and Affleck aren't yet targets of civil suits. And, as of right now, no criminal charges are being brought against anyone involved.

According to Radar, the poker games were held twice weekly in private suites at swank locations like the Beverly Hills hotel, Four Seasons and the Viper Room. Apparently secret passwords were required to gain entry, and the suits were watched by armed guards wearing bulletproof vests. The games were no-limit Texas Hold-Em, and required a $100,000 buy-in. Ruderman used his investors' money to pay for the giant gambling losses that are par for the course in such high-rolling games, which were operated without licenses or permits. Because such games are illegal in California, Maguire's massive winnings are not considered legally gained.

The lawsuit filed against Maguire in United States Bankruptcy Court in Los Angeles claims that these games were "exclusive events, by invitation only, and that there was a regular roster of players consisting of wealthy celebrities, entrepreneurs, attorneys and businessmen." Maguire won as much as $1 million a month over a period of three years, and an insider told Star. "That means he could have made up to $30 to $40 million from these games." Maguire is now being sued to pay that money back.

Maguire has hired an attorney to defend him against the allegations and to argue that his winnings are legitimate.

Beyoncé isn't wasting any time unveiling cuts off her upcoming album 4. After releasing the project's Major Lazer-sampled lead single "Run the World (Girls)," the pop star unveiled her power ballad "1+1" on the finale of "American Idol" and is now set to release "Best Thing I Never Had" on Wednesday.

News about the tune's radio release first surfaced online late last week when Pittsburgh radio ration Kiss 96.1 reportedly received an email from B's camp. When MTV News reached out for comment, a representative for the singer confirmed the approaching radio date.

Not much is known about B's new tune, but from the looks of it, the entertainer may have already given fans a preview of the track during a recent album listening session in New York. JustJared.com reports that the second song played during the event was a midtempo tune about karma with drums similar to "Girls." Written by Babyface, the song reportedly features vengeful lines like "You showed your ass, baby, I saw the real you."

"Best Thing I Never Had" is just one of the pop star's forthcoming cuts from her 12-song album, which hits stores in less than a month. Just last week, the music sensation revealed the track list for the forthcoming LP on Facebook. In addition to "Best Thing I Never Had," 4 also includes "Party" featuring Andre 3000, "Rather Die Young" and "Start Over."
