Justin Bieber Inspired By Michael Jackson For 'As Long As You Love Me' Clip

Singer tweets about the King of Pop's influence on his new video.

On Wednesday, Justin Bieber dropped his cinematic clip for his track "As Long as You Love Me." Heavy on drama and celebrity cameos, the video follows a lovelorn Bieber as he fights actor Michael Madsen for the right to hang out with his daughter, his one true love.

In addition to the Baz Luhrmann-inspired Hawaiian shirts and "Romeo and Juliet" story line, Bieber takes a few punches and slings some sassy lines at Madsen. His pal Big Sean also makes an appearance in the clip. And if fans were wondering what and who influenced the video, Bieber took to Twitter hours after the premiere to shout out his hero, Michael Jackson, for helping him step up his music-video game.

"MJ told stories with his videos. I wanted to tell a story. Feel like a movie. #AsLongAsYouLoveMe," he wrote, showing some love to the master. He later added, "Push the limits. Fight for what you BELIEVE in."

As of Wednesday night, Bieber was astounded that his video had amassed more than 1 million views in less than 10 hours. But that number nearly quadrupled on Thursday morning — as of press time, the video had almost 4 million streams.

Bieber is not only feeling the love for his "ALAYM" video but also for his "Boyfriend" video, which just received two 2012 MTV Video Music Award nominations for Best Pop Video and Best Male Video. Bieber goes into the September 6 broadcast already a two-time VMA winner. He'll learn if he can take home another one when the show goes live from the Staples Center.

The VMAs take place just weeks before Bieber kicks off his sold-out Believe tour, which coincidentally will also be heavily influenced by the King of Pop.

"He has been watching a tremendous amount of Michael Jackson concerts from the '80s and '90s," his manager Scooter Braun shared. "And he has been talking to me about how Michael incorporated magic and pyro and reveals and he wants to bring in that. [But] still do that acoustic thing, but he wants to take it to a whole new level.

"It's just really exciting," Braun continued. "Nothing makes him happier than being onstage. So it's gonna be fun to get back onto the road. I think he was an amazing performer before, but his level of dance and musicianship and his range [has grown]. He's a veteran now. I think he wants to take it to a completely new level."

Taylor Swift Tops Billboard 2012 Top Money Makers

Lady Gaga, Adele and Lil Wayne make top 10.
By Gil Kaufman

Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Adele had huge years in 2011, with major tours, strings of hit singles, Grammy wins and #1-hogging chart-topping albums. But when Billboard magazine compiled its 2012 list of "Music's Top 40 Money Makers" it was Taylor Swift who ruled them all. In fact, the 22-year-old country-pop darling out-earned all of her fellow ladies combined.

According to the magazine's calculations, Swift earned her #1 spot on the list thanks to reported earnings of $35.7 million in the 2011 calendar year. Those earnings came from a combination of revenue from the quadruple-platinum-plus sales of Speak Now and its accompanying tour, which grossed $88.5 million in the U.S. alone.

But because Swift writes her own songs, she rolled up a big chunk of change in songwriting royalties as well.

Right behind Swift was iconic rock band U2, who earned a reported $32.1 million thanks to their record-setting 360 Tour -- which grossed a whopping $736 million total over two years -- including $50 million in merchandise sales and 1.4 million in digital track sales.

Country singer Kenny Chesney was #3 with $29.8 million, followed by previous tally topper Gaga at #4 with $25.3 million. She stayed in the top 5 thanks to sales of Born This Way and its accompanying Monster Ball Tour, which grossed more than $51 million. She also moved 12.7 million digital tracks. Lil Wayne rounded out the top 5 with $23.1 million, made up of 12.3 million digital track sales, $44.7 million in tour grosses and cash from his gig as founder of Young Money Entertainment.

The rest of the top 10: Sade (#6, $16.3 million), Bon Jovi (#7, $15.8 million), Celine Dion (#8, $14.2 million) and Jason Aldean (#9, $13.4 million). Adele rounded out the top 10 list at #10 with $13 million, mostly from the unstoppable streak of her 21 album's chart run,
which included sales of 6.7 million copies last year alone.

The "Glee" cast were just outside the top 10 at #11 ($12.5 million), Katy Perry hit #14 ($11.9 million), Britney Spears was at #16 ($10 million) and like her sisters in pop, Rihanna made it to #22 ($7.6 million) through a combination of album and single sales and touring revenue.

Other notable entries: Enrique Iglesias (#23, $7.4 million), Usher (#30, $6.2 million), Foo Fighters (#31, $6 million), Justin Bieber (#35, $5.5 million), Kanye West (#39, $5.3 million) and Linkin Park (#40, $5.1 million).

Billboard calculated the figures based on proprietary data from its Boxscore archives for concert grosses, Nielsen SoundScan for sales of physical and digital albums, singles and ringtone sales, and Nielsen BDS for terrestrial radio play and streaming service information.

Lady Gaga has never come across a topic that she won't open up about. And in a new, candid interview with Oprah Winfrey on her show "Oprah's Next Chapter," Mother Monster chats about someday actually becoming a mother.

"Yes, I want kids, I want a soccer team and I want a husband," she said in the special, which airs Sunday on Winfrey's OWN cable network. I want to have a few."

Gaga, who is currently planning her Born This Way world tour, noted that her plan to be a mom won't happen anytime soon. "I want to experience that," she said making a baby bump with her hands and laughing, "[but] not yet."

Most of the special was filmed in Gaga's native New York City, but part was also filmed at Harvard University last month. The singer and the talk show host were on hand at the prestigious college to launch Gaga's Born This Way Foundation.

"I just have one thing to say before we get started: We got Oprah! ... Thank you from all of us — from my entire team, from my mother, from the bottom of the hearts of so many people who believe in what we're doing today," Gaga said at the launch. She explained that the foundation seeks to empower the youth of America, adding, "How can we inspire young people to know they have the power to be brave?"

Study: women become camera shy at age 24

Filed under:

Little girls light up when the camera turns on them, but women cover their faces. What exactly changes between then and now when it comes to posing for a picture? That's the exact question that Dove asks in their latest beauty campaign.Little girls light up when the camera turns on them, but women cover their faces. What exactly changes between then and now when it comes to posing for a picture? That's the exact question that Dove asks in their latest beauty campaign.

A study by Dove reveals that women become more self-conscious in front of the camera at the age of 24. What is it that makes us suddenly more camera shy? Could it be that we feel older at 24, or is it due to more people seeing our photos thanks to social media? No matter the reason, one thing is for sure: It means we're feeling less beautiful.
Here are more interesting results from their study:
 • 55% of women are more camera shy now compared to 10 years ago
 • 63% of women have destroyed photos of themselves
 • Nearly 1 out of 3 have stopped photos being taken or later destroyed photos of a beach holiday, a significant party with friends/family and even their own graduations
 • Being tagged in a photo on a social network causes more than half of women to feel more anxious about the way they look
 • Almost half (46%) have de-tagged, deleted or removed a photo of themselves
 • 41% have done something to a photo of themselves to enhance their looks before posting it online
To join the self-esteem conversation with Dove, use the hashtag #MyBeautifulSelf.
