Will Beyonce Grace The Grammys Red Carpet?
Experts weigh in on when the new mom will make her next appearance, and when we might get to see Blue Ivy.
By Jocelyn Vena
<P><a href="/news/articles/1678726/beyonce-post-baby-appearance-blue-ivy.jhtml">Beyoncé has already stepped out</a> not once but twice support of Jay-Z as he held two <a href="/news/articles/1678669/jay-z-carnegie-hall.jhtml">shows at Carnegie Hall</a> this week in New York City, and now her fans are wondering when and where the next great B sighting might be. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Former Destiny's Child Members Say Beyonce Looks 'Amazing' Post-Baby" id="vid:732758" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>Will it be at the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/grammys/">Grammy Awards</a> on Sunday? Or is she going to save it for when she reveals her <a href="/news/articles/1677033/blue-ivy-beyonce-jay-z-leaves-hospital.jhtml">daughter, Blue Ivy</a>, for the first time? </P><P> </P><P>"This option was typical Beyoncé. She isn't interested in getting paid to pose on a tabloid cover. It was a non-event," Huffington Post celebrity columnist Rob Shuter told MTV News about the first two <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/02/08/beyonce-photos-carnegie-hall-night-two/">Queen B sightings</a>. "She isn't one of those reality-type celebrities that turn up at everything just to be seen. Her next big moment will be when she walks a red carpet for a project she is involved in." </P><P> </P><P>With Beyoncé choosing to go a more low-key route this week, celebrity editor <a href="http://gossipdavid.com" target="_blank">David Caplan</a> notes that there's a good chance that she may walk the carpet this Sunday. She's up for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for her Andre 3000-assisted <i>4</i> track, "Party," as well as Best Long Form Music Video for her "I Am ... World Tour" special. Jay-Z is also up for some prizes, including Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Album for the work he did with Kanye West on "Otis" and <i>Watch the Throne.</i> </P><P> </P><P>"Going forward, I expect her next big reveal to be at a show like the Grammys, where she can really jazz it up with a gown, which people want to see," he noted. "I think we'll see Beyoncé gradually appear in more photos at events with Jay-Z as she seeks to get back into the groove. And once those baby photos are out, I wouldn't be surprised to see her out and about occasionally with Blue doing mommy-related tasks." </P><P> </P><P>So, how should we expect to see those first photos? "Since Beyoncé chose to make the reveal by simply stepping out, and letting the throngs of photographers waiting for her to have a field day by taking tons of photos, her reveal allowed every media outlet to run the photos and make the reveal themselves, as opposed to if Beyoncé made an exclusive first post-baby picture deal with a magazine like <i>People</i> or <i>Us</i> or a monthly magazine like <i>Vogue</i> or <i>Vanity Fair</i>," he said. </P><P> </P><P>"Stylistically, had she done a proper shoot with a magazine, the photos would have a much more top-notch quality to them, but when celebs do such photo shoots, they open themselves up to scrutiny since the public sometimes shuns on celebs who get paid for such photos, which happens, especially with the celebrity weeklies," he continued. "But the photos are great, and it's obvious she worked with at least one photo agency, since she posted very clear photos of herself on her website." </P><P> </P><P>And, since B has already been out and about, that ultimately affects the value of future pictures of her. "Now that the first pics of her post-baby have been revealed, the monetary value of subsequent photos of her — without her baby, of course — will be of course pricey," Caplan said. "But ultimately less in value since there's already a set out." </P><P>Well, whenever B decides to make her big red-carpet statement or introduce the world to Blue Ivy, she's certainly already floored her friends with her dazzling post-baby looks. "She looks fantastic. She looks fantastic. I told her she looks so hot!" <a href="/news/articles/1678927/beyonce-blue-ivy-appearance.jhtml">Kelly Rowland</a> exclaimed to MTV News this week. "She looks so hot; just even sexy. Love her!" </P><P> </P><P><i>Do you think Beyoncé will show up at the Grammys? Leave your comment below.</i> </P><P> </P><P><b>Chaos! Profanity! Kony 2012 Campaign Catches Eyes Of Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga
Campaign aims to bring African militia leader Joseph Kony to justice for war crimes and for enlisting children as soldiers.
By Gil Kaufman
<P>A campaign to stop the nearly 30-year, brutal rule of African militia leader Joseph Kony became a viral sensation this week. <a href="http://kony2012.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com" target="_blank">"Kony 2012,"</a> started by the group Invisible Children, aims to make Kony's face so famous that authorities will finally be able to arrest him and try him for his crimes. </P><P> </P><P>A 30-minute <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4MnpzG5Sqc" target="_blank">documentary</a> released on Monday is one of the keys to the campaign, and as of Thursday it had gotten more than 26 million views. The video details the atrocities carried out by Kony and his Lord's Resistance Army. The campaign appears to be working, as at one point on Wednesday, Invisible Children and #stopkony were trending higher on Twitter than Peyton Manning or the new iPad. </P><P> </P><P>Since 1987, human rights officials say Kony has forcefully abducted more than 60,000 children to be soldiers in his army and reportedly raped, mutilated and killed civilians in Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan and displaced more than 2 million people. The leader is wanted for committing atrocities by the International Criminal Court and is being hunted down by 100 U.S. Special Forces advisers and local troops in four Central African nations, according to the <a href="http://bit.ly/AyrDyz"><I>Associated Press.</I></a> </P><P> </P><P>Kony 2012 is an effort to capture Kony and disarm the LRA before a reported window of opportunity closes. One way it plans to do that is by encouraging users to directly message a variety of stars to make use of their Twitter ubiquity to get the word out. Among those listed on the site are: Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Angelina Jolie, Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, Jay-Z, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Ryan Seacrest and Ellen DeGeneres, along with a number of major policymakers. </P><P> </P><P>When users click on the celebs' photos, a tweet pops up that reads: Help us end #LRA violence. Justin Bieber In Hot Water After Phone Number Prank
After Bieber allegedly tweeted nine digits of a Texas phone number, two local residents are threatening legal action.
By James Montgomery
<P>Earlier this month, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> decided to have a little fun with his 19 million Twitter followers when he posted a mysterious phone number and told them "call me right now." </P><P> </P><P>In the tweet — which has since been deleted (but can be seen <a href="http://chunkit.net/wp-content/plugins/RSSPoster_PRO/cache/ba90d_screen-shot-2012-03-08-at-5-18-27-pm.jpg" target="_blank">here</a> ... with the number blocked out) — Bieber included just nine digits of a Texas number, leaving the true Beliebers to figure out the rest ... which, not surprisingly, caused some headaches for folks who had similar numbers. And now, two of them reportedly have threatened legal action. </P><P> </P><P><center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:753202/cp~vid%3D753202%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A753202" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></center> </P><P> </P><P>According to <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2012/03/27/justin-bieber-twitter-phone-number-prank/#.T3GsLfF5mSM" target="_blank">TMZ</a>, a pair of Texas residents (a woman named Dilcie and a man named Kent) have hired an attorney, claiming that since the tweet, their phones have been ringing non-stop. And they're seeking compensation from Bieber for his "reckless" behavior. </P><P> </P><P>The attorney tells the site that her clients received more than 1,000 phone calls from Bieber fans, at all hours of the day, and their patience "wears thin." So they're looking for restitution, which could come in any number of forms: An apology from JB himself, concert tickets for Dilcie's grandchildren, an endorsement for Kent's "upcoming online project," or — of course — cold, hard cash. </P><P> </P><P>Kent, who doesn't want his last name to be revealed, subsequently <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/justin-bieber-tweets-fake-phone-number-15892632" target="_blank">told ABC News</a> that he's had his number for 20 years, and he doesn't want to change it just because of Bieber. Of course, there <i>is</i> a question about whether Justin's initial tweets were even authentic, or if his account was somehow hacked. A spokesperson for the singer did not respond to MTV News' request for comment by press time. </P><P> </P><P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/photos/?fid=1617615"><img src="http://www.mtv.com/news/photos/s/spotted/banner/spotted.jpg"></a></p>

'I think a lot of your fate rides on what sort of light [the judges] shed on you,' latest castoff tells MTV News.
By Christina Garibaldi
"American Idol" fans might still be scratching their heads as to why Erika Van Pelt was sent home on last week's episode. With a brand-new makeover, the singer took on Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind" and received mostly positive feedback from the judges, so when she was eliminated, it not only shocked fans, but Van Pelt as well.
"I've been in the bottom [for] four consecutive weeks. I wasn't surprised at that. Getting eliminated, I felt a little robbed, I can't lie," she told MTV News on Monday (March 26). "Everything happens for a reason."
Looking back at her time on "Idol," Van Pelt said she felt "confused" by the judges' remarks, especially for her latest performance, and feels that their changing critiques may have swayed voters.
"I think a lot of your fate rides on what sort of light [the judges] shed on you," Van Pelt said. "For me, I was doing 'New York State of Mind,' which is a ballad, and every time Billy Joel has ever performed it, he's been sitting behind a piano, he's not dancing around, and [Jennifer Lopez] made some comments about me on planting my feet and getting my body into it more. I just wasn't feeling it. I don't feel like I need to jump around to sing. There are a few other contestants on the show that do nothing but stand there and sing, and they don't say anything to them. [At] the very least, they get standing O's, and they like that. I just felt it was a constant struggle for me."
Yet Van Pelt doesn't feel like she was the only contestant receiving contradicting feedback week after week. "There are a lot of really great performers," Van Pelt said. "Even my personal favorites have gotten some really sort of questionable feedback. I thought their performances were great, and they'd get slammed by the judges. It's a weird thing. I feel like you never really know."
This summer, Van Pelt will join the other top 10 contestants on tour, where she said she will finally be able to show fans who she really is.
"I felt like I was kind of kept in a box a little bit," Van Pelt said of her time on "Idol." "It's just reality, just the structure of the show didn't allow me to show who I really am as an artist. I have a lot of facets, and I've felt like they may have pegged me as this one thing and pushed me in that one direction, but I got a lot going on."
Were you surprised Erika was eliminated? Let us know in the comments.

Ke$ha Out For Vengeance In Musical March Madness
'I'm getting ready as we speak,' she tells MTV News of this year's tournament, tipping off Monday.
By James Montgomery
<P>Last year, based mainly on her attitude, the fact that she <a href="/news/articles/1644961/keha-tries-to-shock-the-world-at-casio-launch.jhtml">plays an AK-47 shaped guitar</a> and the presence of photos like <a href="http://resources2.news.com.au/images/2011/03/13/1226020/684522-ke-ha-drinks-blood.jpg" target="_blank">this</a>, Ke$ha was given an 11 seed in MTV's Musical March Madness tournament — and promptly <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2011/03/15/march-madness-u2-kesha-green-day-adam-lambert/">lost by a huge margin to U2</a> in the opening round. </P><P> </P><P><CENTER><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:747290/cp~vid%3D747290%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A747290" width="430" height="242" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></CENTER> </P><P> </P><P>Of course, she's spent the past 12 months fuming over that early exit, and now, she's going to get her shot at redemption. Not only is Ke$ha <i>back</i> in the 2012 MMM tournament — which kicks off Monday — but she's beefed up her rock credentials: working with the likes of <a href="http://www.billboard.com/news/alice-cooper-welcomes-ke-ha-to-his-nightmare-1005326082.story#/news/alice-cooper-welcomes-ke-ha-to-his-nightmare-1005326082.story" target="_blank">Alice Cooper</a>, channeling the <a href="/news/articles/1663946/kesha-new-album.jhtml">"sexiness" of '70s rock</a> on her new album, recording a (genuinely pretty great) <a href="/news/articles/1676260/kesha-bob-dylan-cover.jhtml">cover of Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright"</a> and spending time <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/keshasuxx/status/160937170826313728" target="_blank">snorting Tums</a> with Wayne Coyne. </P><P> </P><P>So, yeah, this year, she's ready to knock off the field of 63 other acts gunning for the MMM trophy — a brimming bracket that includes <a href="/news/articles/1661353/musical-march-madness-winner-green-day.jhtml">defending champions Green Day</LINK>, upstarts <link type="content" id="1680595">Fun.</a> and <a href="/news/articles/1678693/black-keys-kesha.jhtml">good pals the Black Keys</a>, to name just a few — and reign supreme. But just in case all that rock-and-roll prep work isn't enough to put her over the top, well, Ke$ha has another secret weapon at the ready: an incredibly toned pelvic floor. </P><P> </P><P>"I'm getting ready as we speak. I'm doing Kegels," she told MTV News, while throwing phantom punches at an unsuspecting cameraman. 'Hunger Games' Cheat Sheet: Everything You Need To Know!
It's been a long road to Panem; MTV News takes a trip down memory lane as the adaptation hits the big screen!
By Kara Warner
Jennifer Lawrence in "The Hunger Games"
Photo: Lionsgate
Happy "Hunger Games" release day! What a long, bleak and dystopian road it has been so far.
We've been waiting for this day so long and with so much hope and hype that it feels like we've been through the Reaping ourselves. To celebrate this momentous occasion, we have compiled a cheat sheet of everything you need to know about the big-screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins' beloved best-selling novel.
The Prologue
Back in spring 2009, just several months after the book's well-received publication, Lionsgate won a bidding war for the rights to translate the gripping tale from page to screen. The next big question was, of course, who would be chosen to portray the impoverished "girl on fire" fighting for survival in a seemingly unjustly ruled society?
The Reaping
The highly publicized search for the perfect Katniss Everdeen featured a healthy list of young A-list actresses vying for the role, including Chloe Grace Moretz, Abigail Breslin and Hailee Steinfeld, all of whom were admitted fans . Finally, in May of last year, the suspense ended with the announcement that "Winter's Bone" star and Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence had won the role.
The rest of the "Games" puzzle pieces fell quickly in place, with "Pleasantville" helmer Gary Ross in the director's chair, who reportedly beat out David Slade ("Eclipse") and Sam Mendes ("Revolutionary Road"), and rising stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson claiming the roles of Katniss' best friend Gale Hawthorne and the dependable "boy with the bread" Peeta Mallark. Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz and Wes Bentley would all later join the cast in the film's key supporting roles of escort Effie Trinket, mentor Haymitch Abernathy, District 12 stylist Cinna and Seneca Crane, respectively.
The Production Games
Once the film's March 23, 2012 release date was announced, production shifted into high gear in the forests of North Carolina. In spring 2011, we got our official first look at Lawrence in character, followed thereafter by glimpses of Hutcherson and Hemsworth. And although the matter of making the film was serious business, we later discovered that the castmembers had lots of fun on set, particularly Hutcherson, who told us the humorous tale of his successful, but sneaky, practical joke he played on Lawrence. After that, we were very happy to treat fans to MTV's exclusive first look at footage of Katniss in action during the VMAs.
The Fan Fervor and Whirlwind Promotional Tour
Once production wrapped, we did our best to track down the stars for their thoughts about their roles and the filmmaking process. Lawrence told us all about her training regimen and admitted that all her hours spent with an archery coach were "really fun." Hutcherson shared his perspective on the intense audition process and how he felt he is"so right" for the role.
These little teases and costume reveals were enough to tide us over until we scored multiple sit-down interviews with the castmembers and the mall tours began, all leading up to the star-studded Hollywood premiere, for which we provided in-depth coverage via our live stream.
With early ticket sales breaking records andbox-office predictions very high, all that's left to do is wait and watch as the engrossing story of Katniss and company continues to catch fire.
Check out everything we've got on "The Hunger Games."

Kris Jenner is acting like both a mother and a manager in light of her daughter getting flour bombed during a fragrance launch in Los Angeles.
The Kardashian matriarch took to her blog yesterday and commented on just how well Kim handled the unusual incident, writing:
"I am so proud of my daughter for handling this situation so professionally and with such poise!.Kim wasn't phased by the attack and simply walked away from the red carpet, brushed herself off and headed right back out!!"
Kim actually is now considering pressing charges against the culprit, who was detained and released and NOT hired by PETA, that awful organization insists.
Jenner then concluded: "Thanks to everyone at Lighthouse Beauty and The London Hotel for such a fantastic event, and for handling the situation so well."
Ah, yes, there it is: the plug. Kris likely made thousands with that sentence alone. Are we sure the Kardashians didn't orchestrate this attack?
